*PM Vishwakarma Yojana giving new energy to traditionalism and skills- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi*

Wardha, September 20:- “We are committed to provide new energy to traditionalism and skills through the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. This scheme is in fact a complete road map of efforts taken for utilizing the traditional skills of the nation since 1000 of years and fulfilling the dream of developed India. The Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Class community have maximum partnership in these skills. We are taking efforts to see that the workers and artisans belonging to these categories become entrepreneurs. We have a sincere wish that besides giving a huge contribution to the economy of the nation, they should be a part of the system like supply chain”, said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also said that farmers will be the heroes of multidimensional progress of Maharashtra and the government will take all out efforts on all fronts for their prosperity and well-being.

The year completion program of PM Vishwakarma Yojana was today organized at the Swavlambi ground in Wardha. The Prime Minister was speaking on this occasion. Governor Dr C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of state Jayant Chaudhari, Chairman of the National Commission for the Backward Class Hansraj Ahir, forest minister and guardian minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil, minister for industries Uday Samant, Skill development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha and other dignitaries were also present during the program.

The Prime Minister also performed E- Bhumi Pujan of PM Mitra Park at Amravati, besides two schemes of the state government including Aacharya Chanakya Kaushal Vikas Kendra Yojana and Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar women startup scheme.

Recalling that, on this very day, Mahatma Gandhi launched the campaign to eradicate untouchability in the year 1932, the Prime Minister said that Wardha, the birthplace of Bapuji and the Karmabhumi of Vinoba give the energy to carry on with our resolution of creating developed India. He said that it is because of this reason that we have selected Wardha for celebrating the year completion of Vishwakarma Yojana. He also said that this scheme is not only a government program but it is a complete road map in order to use the skills of India, existing since thousands of years, to fulfill the dream of developed India. He said that traditional skills had been the mainstay of the country’s prosperity in the history of the nation.

Prime Minister Shri Modi further said that the textile industries, the art of sculpture, metallurgy, engineering and all other skills of India were having a special place in the entire world, adding that India had been the largest producer of textile in the whole world but the British destroyed all the indigenous skills during their regime in India and it was on this background that Gandhiji took efforts for promoting the cottage industries from Wardha.

Stating that in the post- independence era the barter group was neglected consistently, the Prime Minister regretted that the nation has lamented behind in progressing and modernity. Prime Minister Shri Modi further said that the role behind this scheme is to honor the traditional skills of the artisans and ensure the prosperity of this community. He said that more than 700 districts of the nation, more than two and a half lakh Gram Panchayats and thousands of local civic governing bodies are taking efforts for implementation of this mission, adding that more than 10 lakh people have been connected with this scheme and more than 8 lakhs sculptors have been imparted training for skill development. He said that these artisans include 60 thousand from Maharashtra itself and their work is being supported by modern and digital technology.

The Prime Minister further said that modern means have been provided to 6 and half lakh of Barters- Balutedars and maximum benefit of this scheme is given to people from this community and groups. He expressed his wish that along with giving their contribution to the nation’s economy these people should become an important part of the supply chain system.

The prime minister further said that Maharashtra is a state that has huge potential for industrial development and it is leading in textile industries. Stating that Vidarbha has large cotton area, the Prime Minister regretted that the farmers were neglected in the past, adding that after the formation of government in the year 2014, led by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the Textile park had been erected at Nandgaon, Khandeshwar.

Shri Modi further said that the upcoming PM Mitra Park at Amravati is one more step in the efforts to provide a new impetus to the textile industries. He said that the efforts of the government are to go ‘Farm to Fiber’, ‘Fiber to Fabric’, Fabric to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign. He also exuded confidence that the farmers from Vidarbha region will prosper by exporting the quality Yarn produced in this region to the foreign countries.

He said that the investment of 10 thousand crores is expected at the Amravati Park along with generation of 1lakh employment. The Prime Minister further said that all the supplementary infrastructure for industrial development is available in Maharashtra on a larger scale. He said that 10 lakh acres of land will come under irrigation due to Wainganga Ganga -Nalganga scheme, which is very important for the development of irrigation in Vidarbha region. He also said that besides this, the government is also helping the onion and Soya bean producing farmers through various beneficial decisions.

*PM Vishwakarma Yojana significant for the economic progress of artisans- Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde*

Stating that the PM Vishwakarma Yojana is extremely important for the economic progress of poor, deprived and those people of the nation who are engage in traditional business, chief minister Shri Eknath Shinde said that priority will be given to make available global market for the items made by the artisans through the medium of this scheme. He further said that the PM Mitra Park at Amravati will be giving a fillip to the development of textile industries in the whole nation and it will also give a boost to the export of textiles that will be made by processing the cotton produced by the farmers of the state. He also said that investment of 10 thousand crores is expected in this Park, which will also generate more than one lakh employment. He said that due to the Acharya Chanakya Kaushalya Vikas Kendra and Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar women startup scheme will be giving a boost to the social progress of women and various constituents of the state.
